Yeah... the fuck buddy's tattoo is intense. Its a valknut set inside a black sun (a kind of sonnenrad). Both are old European (valknut is Norse, sonnenrad is Norse and Celtic) symbols that were appropriated by the Nazis in the 30s and 40s. The symbols aren't actually inherently racist. He could have the tattoo for legitimate religious or cultural/heritage reasons. But because the Nazis did typically combine symbols this way (i.e. putting a smaller symbol like a valknut or the swastika inside a sonnenrad), its certainly suspect.
