Heavy Metal Songs!!

THIS is new to me. Popped open Spotify and was listening to some of this. Great stuff. I like my metal with clear vocals, so I really appreciate that.
I’m glad you like it :) it’s hard to find new bands to enjoy listening to sometimes. Maybe you would like ‘Malificium’ as well from the same band (Morgana LeFay)

I will definitely look into that. Yeah, man, trying to find new stuff is really hard. A lot of times I'll hear something and LOVE the music, only to hear awful gutteral, hard to understand vocals (which some people like, I get it).

It really is. I can appreciate stuff like that sometimes, but like you said, many don’t appreciate guttural and screams in metal. Which is why this band is perfect, raspy and some mix vocals :)

Dude, leaving a doctor's appointment listening to Maleficium. This is some raw, chunky metal. I love it.

Awesome, I’m happy to hear :) I just found this band a couple of days ago, glad others share this love of music :)

My favorite bands in metal today are probably Oranssi Pazuzu and YOB

Growing up though, the biggest deal to me was always Neurosis, I absolutely lived by that band for years and years.

I dunno if this cheating, it's not a particularly METAL song, but it's from the guy who I most associate with metal--Ronnie James Dio. If there was ever a guy who could sing about magic and mystical things and make it sound cool, it was him. Will forever be the ultimate entertainer in my eyes. I'm an inpatient fellow, and long songs aren't normally my thing, but Stargazer always gets played from beginning to end. Great story brought to life by Ronnie's weapon of a voice.

Definitely metal, just more classic which was heavy back then. So I think this fits well :)

RJD was very metal. Amazing set of pipes on him too. RIP.

Don't forget he was part of Sabbath as well, which is doubly metal.

Oh, absolutely. NOTHING against Ozzy, but I tend to listen to the Dio years a lot more when I'm listening to Sabbath.

I just wasn't sure if Stargazer qualified as a metal song and didn't want to throw off the theme of the thread. But RJD, as a man, all metal.

Children of the Sea. I love the slow build up, then Ronnie goes ape shit. He could really belt em out.

I usually tend to like Sabbath's first six albums as their definitive ones, but the Dio era was awesome too, particularly Heaven and Hell.

Many say Ozzy was "the" voice of Sabbath and fit the band better, but on a technical level RJD was leagues better.

Yeah, I owe a little more attention to the Dio years, they never really stuck to me, probably not due to his voice but because I'm more into the "groove metal" vibe of their early years.

It's clear that Dio can hold a note better than Ozzy, but Ozzy knew how to bring the love vibe to the crowd in a special way that I've never seen another metal frontman do. Like he had this energy on stage like he was loving his fans back as hard they loved Sabbath.

Vol. 4 to me is probably the greatest classic metal album ever in the historical sense and I still listen to it frequently. also, Past Lives, fantastic live album.
