The jumping around in timelines didn't bother me (pushing up imaginary nerd glasses) I had read the books, so I could tell what they were doing from episode one. I will encourage you to stick with it. Depending on how close they stick to the source material, the series will become quite thirsty. In that universe, the Witchers are almost fetishized.
