I think this was the only outcome. Cements Jack Perry as a heel, and could only beat Hook by cheating so that helps him keep the strong persona they have built up for him.

I think hook selling too much... He looks much less tough than before and it's not just about the loss. It started somewhere in a feud with Ethan page. Take, for example, the single closeline he took from Jack Perry in "Forbidden Door" and the way he sell it for 5 min
also when you look back at the match with perry he start really strong with punches to the midsection, but then Jack takes over after less then 30 seconds and throws him out of the ring. There is no way this would have happened to the old Hook.

I think this is definitely a positive development of his wrestling skills. Selling is an art in itself - but - he started in an extreme place of not selling almost at all and I think he is over selling right now
