Hot Power Ranger Men!

Blake made some shitty degrading remarks about the Beast Morphers cast last year that landed him in hot water with the actual cast and power rangers media. So much so that he had to issue an even shittier public apology that wasn't even an actual apology and when that received no fan fare he doubled down on his original degrading remarks. It even cost him a few con appearances. So he's pretty much been blacklisted from PR.

I wouldn't say he has been blacklisted, but rather it hurt his reputation. Austin St. John was the same way he has made some not so great remarks in the past, but he bounced back from it. Karan Ashley too if I remember correctly regarding Power Rangers when it was with Saban. Blake has bounced back from it somewhat I think unlike Samuell Benta who will forever loathed by the ranger fandom for what he did.

.
What did Samuell Benta say/do?
Here is what happen according to the Power Ranger Wiki:

Benta was subject to rumors following his appearance at Power Morphicon 2007, where he was accused for the disappearance of an autographed banner which was to be donated for charity later on. Benta allegedly "stole" one of the banners and refused to return it, later resulting in his banning from future conventions due to his misconduct.

I agree... unfortunately for Blake, he doesn’t have the face recognition the others have. So they could honestly put any actor there, and I don’t think there would be much fanfare About it.
Also, I don't really see them revisiting the character of Justin at all because don't most fans blame the character for Turbo's shortcomings?

I think some do, but I don't. I blame it mostly on the series that chose to take the footage from when adapting it to Turbo. They used footage from Gekisou Sentai Carranger which is supposed to be a humorous homage to the Sentai franchise. The tone of the footage used versus the stories they wrote were horrible That is why I disliked the second part of Turbo. To be honest though Turbo was at least coherent and looks like Oscar-worthy writing when compared to the complete mess that was Operation Overdrive.

I agree. The Justin character took a lot of the blame for the short comings of the turbo season.

I know one of the biggest issues people had with the season was unexpected departure of the Rocky character (Steve Cardenas ) and the addition of the Justin character in the Turbo Movie.

I think the problem was mostly due to the fact that it came out of nowhere. That Blake only stayed on for Turbo and an episode of Space was also an issue. The reason Steve left was due to the fact that he injured himself during the filming of Zeo.

In hindsight, you can see that the story that had been evolving from the original series just kinda stopped. The older rangers weren’t in school anymore, a new villain, Zordon and Alpha going, Rocky stepping down, and the shift (pardon the pun) from Zeo to Turbo which doesn’t really make sense storyline wise. Add Justin in there and it comes out to a very weird start of season especially for those who didn’t watch the Turbo movie.

It would have been great to see the older rangers manoeuvre through adult life but I get why they let everyone go after JDF decided to leave.

Yeah what should have happened is they should of had JYB, Catherine, and Nakia stay on along with Blake. Have Adam become the leader and bring in another new ranger. Either that or get Austin to come back yet again. I would have loved to have seen him and Adam as the leaders of the team again. The really sad thing was all three, but especially Johnny wanted to stay.

I’m sure Catherine wanted to leave as well, I think only Nakia and JYB wanted to stay.

What I wish they had done is set up the changing of the guard storyline from the beginning, almost like Turbo was always meant to be the new teams story. If the old rangers had stayed around to help the new rangers settle in it could have been a great dynamic.

Plus it would really help with my Adam Carlos fantasy....

I think it was believed for years that it was JDF and Catherine who wanted to leave but not too long ago i’m sure she confirmed that she was going to stay so the producers probably thought that if JDF wasn’t there then there’s no point in continuing the other’s story which is a shame.

Adam and Carlos, Adam and TJ, either could have worked haha
