There needs to be more discussion about HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). I believe the vaccine is required in some countries and I feel it should be required in the United States also. It's screened more heavily among women because certain strains can cause cervical cancer. There are numerous strains that aren't associated with cancer but those that are can also cause health complications in men and especially men who have sex with other men. At least with the vaccine there is another of protection that could be beneficial if you are engaging in sexual activity. The trend of guys wanting to be cumdumps will increase the number of HPV cases. I find that so many of the men being reckless sexually are not even aware of the other risks that are involved with raw sex. Prep and Doxy Pep are great but they only serve as a barrier to specific stds. Herpes and HPV are still things that people should be concerned about. Aside from unsightly skin tags and warts, certain strains of HPV can lead to cancers (Anal, Throat, Penile).

HPV causes oral cancer. The HPV vaccine VACCINATES AGAINST CANCER. Its honestly, truly, one of the only vaccines that prevents cancer. Almost all oral cancers (tongue and throat especially) are caused by DNA alterations from HPV. It can hit you before you are 40 years old. It is one of the fastest growing cancers out there, more and more people are getting oral cancer, and they are younger and younger all the time.

If you are under 45 you can get HPV vaccines. I strongly recommend it. Tongue cancer is horrible. I know pesonally: my father died from it and my wife got it.

Do you actually believe that a vaccine that might save gay lives or the lives of ANYONE who isn’t married and having straight sex exclusively could be mandated under this administration? Do you think any vaccine will be promoted now that the Leader has appointed a rabid anti-vaxxer to his inner circle?

I get your point. I know that this administration could care less about the well being of the health of it's citizens and especially those in the Gay community. I still think it's something worth thinking about. People are becoming more reckless due to Prep and Doxy but it's really all a setup for more super strains of those viruses and the inception of new viruses. HPV and herpes seem to go under the radar because people simply act like they don't exist.

The HPV vaccine was actually mandated for school entry in several states:
Virginia, Rhode Island, and Hawaii, also Washington, D.C. and in the territory of Puerto Rico.

California requires schools to notify parents about the desirability of the vaccine, but does not mandate it.

The particular sticky point about the vaccine is that the CDC recommends it be given at age 12 or 13, so that it would be fully effective and be taken care of by whatever future time someone would begin to be sexually active. And, given at this age, only 2 shots instead of 3 are required. But some sick people twisted this and went on a campaign screaming that "they" are telling our 13 year old daughters to be having sex...and all logic left the discussion. But as about one-third of young men (20's and 30's) have HPV, keeping your sweet daughter a pristine virgin until her wedding night to that nice boy is not an effective solution.
