Reminds me of the time a couple of friends were listening to the Istomin-Stern-Rose recording of Beethoven's Triple Concerto with Ormandy and the Philadelphia, when this young know-it-all walked over, listened for a few seconds and gave his learned critique, "Very nice, but the second violin is flat"; to which came the response, "That's because it's a cello."
