I'm Chinese born Indonesian. i always find all men attractive but I'm mostly attracted by white, latinos, middle eastern and black. I've been to Bali a couple of times and i used Grindr there. Boy was i rejected and blocked so many times.

A german guy took pity on me and invited me to grab a drink. He told me that many caucasians, latinos don't find asian guys attractive due to the skin color as we have bright, fair skin and they prefer tanned skins.

It makes me sad though.

You picked an exceptionally good photo of Shahid -- I don't think he really looks quite that handsome. Had you dropped him in another thread and not identified him by name, I'm sure many posters would actually mistaken him to be a tanned white guy. I wasn't surprised to learn he's descended from northern Indian where the Aryan population is. In other words, he doesn't look like most Indian guys.

Just like Hideo doesn't look like most Japanese guys. He is definitely biracial.

Your post illustrates that while there is a great variety amongst Asian populations, a lot of Western beauty standards are still upheld.

I'm in LA and have a good amount of Asian male friends who are entertainers. Sure, they are handsome enough and work out, but the feedback they get is that everyone wants guys that look like Ross Butler, Ryan Potter or Ian Dale -- guys who look "Asian enough" (an agent's words, not mine) but have Western features. And yes, the irony is if you don't know who these guys are their names are pretty non-Asian.

And of course we all have that Asian female friend who jokes that she married a white guy so she could have "beautiful half-Asian babies." But there is some truth in humor.

For the record, I'm all for interracial relationships (many of mine have been). I'm just observing the "new" standard of Asian male beauty is of biracial Asian male beauty, as many posts in this thread have proved.

Grindr is very prejudiced!! I would never patronize such a horrible site. On that site if you are not White enough, Young enough, etc. they will never accept you. Why poison yourself by such company??

Many Filipino men look younger and have beautiful hearts and smiles. Their youthfullness (even in the much older) is a treasute.

In contrast, the Duck Dynasty or Schwartzenaeger look does nothing to attract my interest. It would seem that the so-called Western view of what is attractive, is not as universal as they would have us suppose.

Diversity is good, as it offers more vibtant choices and opportunities to escape from outdated, static and rigid mindset.

The more I see Filipino smiles, the more I am reminded of how genuinely beautiful and inspirational.

Yes, when they are muscular. I grew up near Chinatown, NYC and there were tons of hot Asian guys who worked out and had great bodies. Add their healthy skin complexion, usually great abs, and really good aging and I am easily hooked.

Every “type” or “group” has its ugly, average, and breathtakingly handsome/beautiful members.

Fortunately for many in the first two categories, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Unfortunately, racist/culturally informed standards of beauty also prove the truth that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. As you imply above.

I’ve always found about the same number of any group to be good-looking, male or female.
