Jack Harlow

Let me also say that Jack and Bad Bunny does do more for me than Harry ever has. Harry is the most conventionally cute of the three, but he’s also the most privileged, possibly the least talented, and he comes off like someone who is perhaps low-key kinda gross and mean beyond his “I-love-everyone”/“let’s-all-come-together” persona. So, not everything is about being the most conventionally good-looking.
Do u guys also not have an issue w white gays who take on blk women’ lingo/persona? Cause Jack does the straight equivalent w his blaccent having self.

I don’t see what that has to do with my post. But yes, Jack is a bit of a culture vulture. He does have a bit of talent. But the “black swag” is what gave him extra appeal, especially for those who won’t admit to low-key being into “wiggers”. Then again, a lot of black rappers also adopt try-hard voices.

So u do think of the white gays doing it as the same

It’s all fairly cringe-y. But once again, that has nothing to do with the post that you quoted. And that hasn’t even been a critique of Jack throughout most of this thread. Also, can we stop with blanketed, borderline homophobic terms like “white gays”? Because most “white gays” don’t act like half of the cast of any random Rupaul’s Drag Race season. While using terms like “white gays” and “messy bottoms” have become a low-key way for queers to show off their internalized phobia, bottom shame, femme shame, self-misandry.

I know most don’t. My point is straight white men get away with and get way less flak for their blaccents and use of aave far more than their gay counterparts. That in itself is femme-phobic. They’re all taking/ using elements of blk culture.

We can't get rid of that term entirely. White gay men have made themselves a general issue in the queer community. That's like getting rid of the term Karen/white woman tears because it can be used to be sexist against any woman who's combative. Just cause it can be used like that doesn't mean we should abandon the term. And they have a point. White gay men do tend to appropriate AAVE and black culture & it's on equal dicey territory as Jack Harlow's "white boy swag".

Slam dunk. They're often the most problematic in the entire community lmao. They are furious when you say so too. Hoefully Jack does press shoots for GQ or something where he shows his chest and feet lol. Sidenote, anyone think he had a bit of a boner in the massage video or was that just his dick?
