I think it’s the opposite. Jacob cheating on Troye.
No it's about Troye's infidelity as the relationship was breaking down. He said it was about him in an interview. It's not clear whether it was during the relationship or after they had already broken up but Troye found another person, while still loving Jacob, and regrets it now.
It's pretty much confirmed at this point that he's no longer together with Troye.
Troye has been posting on tik tok these past few days and in one of those he directly says that he "does not have a boyfriend. At least not anymore". He also posted another video (jokingly?) asking guys with brown hair or brown eyes to hit him up and that his DMs are open.
If Troye's new EP is in fact about this relationship I guess he cheated on Jacob and the relationship is over but he still wants Jacob and wants him to take him back. Guess we'll find out soon enough when the full EP drops in a few weeks. Either way the music slaps #sadbops

I always just assumed they were open like most gay L.A. couples. Never knew for sure though
