I suspect it’s repressed trauma, based on the conversation he had with his mother last week. I have to say I suspected this is where his character’s storyline would go after that heated physical altercation they had last season and it being the basis of all Nate’s anger and trauma he now inflicts on others. That said, I don’t like that the only gay male character on the show, who was repressed his whole life, is a pedophile.

Sorry, your comment seemed to imply that there’s a possibility of it being the case. Nevertheless, I’m curious to know where this leads his character. Cal (Nate’s dad) indicated that he ”did not know” Nate. Implying that Nate’s life has been a big secret even to Cal.

Yeah, that comment from Cal still has me confused too.

The gay character I was referring to is Cal. Although, Nate telling Jewels that everything he ever said was true…makes me want to go back and watch season 1 and revisit their storyline.

I feel like so much more is going on this season than I realize, the real story vs. fantasy is done almost too well this season. My other theory, not related to Cal/Nate, is that Elliot isn’t real and a splintering or manifestation of Rue’s personality.

As annoyed as I am every week that Jacob isn’t going to have a nude scene, I can’t get over how well this show is written, directed and acted so I begrudgingly move on and love the show.
