Stereotype coach, and yet... not perhaps unknown...
I read years ago an account of basketball coach Larry Knight making some kid on his team stand in the middle of the team in a circle and pull down his shorts to stand there in his jock. I should research that to see if it's true.
At least the guys in this film WORE jockstraps. That's heartening. I don't know this movie. Does the player get revenge on the coach?

I've never heard of this movie, but I'm always glad when a jockstrap is involved. Alas, that would never happen today.

YUP! That's the scene. Fuckin hot. I have found the full scene on video on the web, but I couldn't find it last time. Can you imagine being on set?

Also, how did the writer persuade the director and actors that a JOCKSTRAP scene was necessary. Of course, back then, jocks were the norm.
