A show like what? It's a big budget period drama that's well written and beautifully filmed, and will probably get nominated for loads of awards. Acting wise it gives them far more opportunities to impress than Bridgerton or Magic Mike ever could. Neither is in danger of being typecast ( apart from being ridiculously good-looking) and doing something considered daring will no doubt boost their reputations.I'm honestly amazed that two fairly established and popular actors agreed to do a show like this.
Thank you for the High Res pics.
Thank for saying exactly what I was thinking. I too was confused by that replyA show like what? Recently? No not really really. This might have been the case in the 80s and 90s, but not since the last decade. You rarely ever see straight actors in gratuitous sex scenes anymore.so many HUGE straight actors have done extremely graphic straight sex scenes and they're still super popular....
If the writing is good the show would do well without the sex scenes.A show like what? What a terrible take!If the writing is good the show would do well without the sex scenes.
i really hope so, also from producers, musicians, staff members and even Ariana Grande he's gettin praised for wicked i hope he gets a nomination at the oscarsJB actually feels like such a trailblazer to me. Like he feels like someone who is really going to change the game when it comes to gay actors finally breaking down those barriers for good
I'm not complaining. I just find it bewildering that they agreed to do this when they aren't some random 20 year-olds looking for a big break. You DO know which website you're on don't you??? It ain't PuritansAreUs!
From what we've seen so far, the sex scenes are not explicit at all. They're certainly not gratuitous and use intimacy to explore a decades long relationship in ways that haven't been explored with gay characters on a mainstream drama. Back in the fifties, probably the only place these characters could feel safe to be themselves and talk honestly (or not) would be alone together in bed. The actors are on record saying those intimate conversations were their favourite scenes to film. If they're happy, why would anyone else have a problem with it?
But that implies that there's something wrong with appearing naked on screen or on stage, and only someone desperate to raise their profile would do such a thing. There can be perfectly legitimate artistic reasons for getting naked, and as long as nobody's being coerced and are comfortable doing so, why should it be damaging to their career? These roles wouldn't work with very young actors anyway unless you recast it every decade.I'm not complaining. This person is baffling for sure. Plenty of well established actors do sex scenes too, in both mainstream and indie films alike. That's perfectly normal? and has been for years? But that implies that there's something wrong with appearing naked on screen or on stage, and only someone desperate to raise their profile would do such a thing. it's a shame that you have no taste. It’s a shame that the script is so bad and that Matt is such a terrible actor… because they’re both insanely hot (Jonathan is basically my dream man) and the sex scenes are incredible.
LOL!it's a shame that you have no taste.
the script and story are great and both matt and johnny are giving incredible performances.
Interesting. They’re both doing wonderfully but if we’re going to compare, I’d say Bailey is coming off a little forced. It’s a shame that the script is so bad and that Matt is such a terrible actor… because they’re both insanely hot (Jonathan is basically my dream man) and the sex scenes are incredible.
You've seen literally the 1st episode and they're both still feeling out the characters. Captain Picard felt forced most of season one and SPS is a Broadway legend. There is no need to be so judgemental or down on something without giving it a chanceInteresting. Easy there. Not being down. I’m thoroughly enjoying my experience and their performances. Simply sharing my two cents since someone made a comparison comment. You've seen literally the 1st episode and they're both still feeling out the characters.
