In Wheel of Time he plays Rand, a boy who finds out he's adopted and his adoptive father raised him since his adoptive mother died when Rand was just 5 years old.
So he plays a kid raised by just his father, who then turn out to not actually be his father. Not sure how much he could learn by listening to stories from single fathers, or kids raised by single fathers, but I guess it would add depth to his interpretation of Rand.

That’s a good point. It does seem to be mostly father/son stuff he follows. He just doesn’t give off any sort “family man” vibes (to me at least, could totally be wrong lol)
