Yes there is a version with sound. I know, because I saw it.

We must try to recover and rescue everything we can about Julian, so that he is not lost.

Don't take this as gospel but I was under the impression it was a motorcycle accident from when I searched for answers. From what I saw, I want to say he had brain damage and stuff prior to dying. It's unfortunate.
