And I was excited to give it a shot for him but soon as I started it I was BORED.
I just watched it. It was cute. It had the right ingredients to make an interesting statement.
They just chose not to make any.
Even the monologuing at the end of the third act, felt unearned.
Honestly, the background gags, like the black people learning magic, how the people in Africa were affected by the company his character was working for, and even the magical girl post credit scenes should've been the main plots.

Its impressive he continues to be booked and busy. I think most people don’t see him as a gay actor. He could play both gay and straight roles easily.
