I’m in my twenties and seem to have difficulty keeping my uncircumcised penis clean… and what I mean by that is, I’m normally a grower not a shower so the majority of my day, I have my penis pretty much wrapped up beneath my skin.

When I do a good wash (pulling it back… giving it a good scrub during a shower), the smell often lingers after I dry it off with a dry towel when I finish my shower.

For the uncut guys in the group… what do you normally use to clean and what works for you guys to not have the smell linger? (Especially when I’m taking a piss a few hours into my day)

Thanks!

If your dick smells, it would suggest you're not washing it often enough. Having said that, it's usually enough to just use warm water as you don't want to use too much soap down there.
If it still smells, after washing it more regularly, I suggest you go see your doctor to be checked for infections.

I try to use an ear bulb everyday to clean my tip. However I have phimosis and I can only pull my skin down so much so I try to squirt water underneath the foreskin and that seems to do the job. And NO. Don’t use soap down there.

I have phimosis too and it had never ever gave me any problems until a month ago that I got a fungal infection. I have no idea what I did different or what I stopped doing to cause it.

Did you clean it regularly?
Honestly, only in the shower but not really after peeing. I think my problems actually started when I started cleaning after peeing, I don't know if I irritated myself by using the wrong kind of toilet paper. But now that I think about it, the irritation also coincided when I started doing phimosis stretching exercises.

It is possible you have a yeast infection of some sort (which would begin to smell faster than a completely healthy penis), and which usually manifests as itching and a bout of smegma (could be from something as simple using a laptop and creating a warm moist environment).

In the US there are no over-the-counter treatments for male yeast infections because the proposed solution is circumcision (or amazement that you weren't at birth), however you have an enormous choice of OTC female yeast infection treatments (because female circumcision is frowned upon) - monistat seems to be the leading brand, but you will find many others at Walgreens/CVS in the same area - and they usually have a cream to apply to your outer-lady parts and a dissolvable pea-sized suppository. These work equally well for cleaning up male yeast infections, and are harmless if you don't have one.

My suggestion is treat yourself for a mild yeast infection using a 3-day vaginal cream on your glans and inner foreskin and see whether it helps. If it does, you've figured out the problem, and if it doesn't you're out $15.

Clearly not medical advice - and listen to the mod above who suggested you seek some, but this was the medical advice given to me due to occasional flare-ups from laptop use. It's cheap and it works and women use it all the time, and if you had athletes foot or jock itch, you would try a foot powder or cream first and see whether it went away before seeking medical treatment.

I use the same soap - Irish Spring as I use on the rest of my body, and don't usually have a problem - and wash the soap off thoroughly, but I understand that perfume allergies can be a problem, so if you are using a perfumed soap - try something with fewer irritants in it.

I use coconut oil daily, its a great lubricant and antiseptic aswell, it has many uses,. And it smells nice .But any good oil based band cream is OK.

As other posters have said, dry under your foreskin after peeing and clean off any cum or precum so it doesn't go stale. You shouldn't really need to do much more than a few strokes under the shower to keep it clean.

I recommend that you not focus on elaborate cleaning but ensure that your cock doesn’t allow conditions to develop that are conducive to the formation of smegma. To do that, keep the foreskin rolled back all the time and just practice regular, good hygiene. I made a decision when I first entered college that I would roll back my foreskin and train it to stay rolled back, keeping the helmet head exposed. I don't recall how long the training took but I don't believe that it was more than a couple of months. And there is nothing difficult about it, but you must be diligent about keeping your foreskin in the retracted position, especially in the initial stages of “memory” training. You will have to be somewhat creative about correcting any “penile excursion” that occurs when you are in public.

My foreskin now stays rolled back naturally rather than covering the glans. I have included a photo and a short video clip that show the results that you can expect. Look at the photos of my cock and you can see that the foreskin is rolled back so that most people don’t recognize me as a brother in the turkey neck fraternity. Also, when the foreskin is properly trained, it stays rolled back as seen in the video clip where I attempt to pull the foreskin over the glans without any luck!

My foreskin has never covered all of the head. So most of the time the helmet on show. It looks nicer I think

I wholeheartedly concur with you, silverfox. I find that there is a certain aesthetic appeal to a cock with a foreskin that doesn't completely cover the glans. My brother's foreskin behaves similar to yours and before I "trained" mine, I was envious of his tool.
