I’ll try to find those old interviews but I can’t remember the name of the cannabis magazine to search Wayback. As for performer interviews from the time, I think the independent porn blogs were all purged as Yahoo and Google bought out the competition and shuttered adult content so most links are going broken.

It’s not like the interviews were archived by national news services and industry sites like The Sword weren’t about to write anything bad about their advertisers.

Next Door Gay4payers were often a subject for debate on that board. I might have to go back through those posts and see if there’s any articles about Kevin posted there.

No, nothing offended me because I never read any of your comment on that site, but I found it funny that @StrenghtenMe was able to identify you purely based on the style of replies.

As for Nextdoor, I am not gonna say I don't believe in "gay-for-pay" defined as 100% str8/asexual but what I did observe from reading some posts (blast from the past) on blogs like QMN/theSword etc. there was a ton of bisexual erasure because some gay men felt so weird that they labelled any guy who didn't act like stereotype of gay queen- straight.

For me personally a lot of them were obviously bisexual even if only dated women f.e Marcus or Rod.

It was probably my profile picture but maybe it was my reply style.

I tend to agree about many performers that identified with being “gay-for-pay” likely being at least bisexual, even if most ended up leaving the industry and marrying women.

Sexuality in that context is hard to define though because these were hypersexual young guys in their 20s who were advised to abstain from any sexual activity (even masterbation) for several days prior to filming. Horny guys that age will fuck the space between sofa cushions.

With NDS at the time they literal allowed those kinds of guys to just get serviced and when they did eventually top they filmed in 5 to 10 minute bursts. Yeah it pretty much matter what they did off camera.
There was some drama about Phenix Saint iirc, he was besties with Trent Diesel who was very openely bi so wouldn't be suprised if they did something off set tho.

It definitely wasn't very offensive but for me as a bisexual man who prefer women I felt quite annoyed when you were talking all the time about g4p and acting like bi ones did not exist..ot even worse, acting like bisexuality is something str8 guys said to apppeal to viewers. Like that one is g4p, he is g4p, another is g4p etc.

Whoa. You might have me confused.

I’ve never been reductive about bisexuality and if I referred to a performer as gay4pay then it”s because they themselves made a point to say they were straight and only doing gay porn for pay. I have never cared about a performers sexuality unless they make it a problem.

Don’t confuse my disdain for the way NDS coddled Cody Cummings, and some of their other “straight” performers, pampering them like royalty while treating the openly gay an bisexual performers like indentured servants as judgement of a performers professed sexuality. It’s more an assessment of that specific performers level of douchery and entitlement. It created a toxic caste system until they started losing money and finally addressed it.

The only issue I ever remember having with Kevin, who never made his real sexuality an issue, was after video of him, Marcus Mojo, and a couple of others hurling homophobic are slurs at each other in a crowd while working a Pride event for Next Door was posted. I said they should apologize and NDS should have issued statement condemning homophobia in gay entertainment. Can you imagine begin an openly gay performer and finding you are shooting in a submissive role with a person who was so loudly homophobic at a Pride event while representing the company?

I mean when you were discussing pornstars sexuality you basically never said with confidence that guy X is bisexual but you were very sure when it came to supposed straightness.

The thing with them saying they were straight- why would we believe this?
Around 2011 majority of them started to say they are bi/fluid/not fully straight and according to you it was just pandering....I mean its possible but there is much more likely that majority of guys who have gay sex are more or less bi than 100%str8.

I wouldn’t make a blanket statement like all performers claiming to be bisexual/pan/etc were pandering to a gay audience.

I might have called out a specific performer who claimed to be straight to one audience and something else to another audience as pandering, especially if they seemed to be disrespecting their queer audience.

Idk but I mean gay porn fucked up the perception of many [I assume gay] men to the point when a man who seemed to enjoy sex with men is much more likely to be labelled straight who is just good actor rather than bisexual who enjoy it.

This level of scepticism is not applied when the same guy is fucking a girl and everyone assume he is really turned on by her (instead of thinking he is gay who is fakin it).

I wouldn't care about it but the point is that those assumptions are based on how guy X act and look like- if he is masculine hunk he is assumed to be str8 because its just too good to be true...which is ridiculous.
