I think that every actor goes through a moment of annoyance and resentment of a role, and wants to go to other roles, we are seeing it with the leaf show, they want to get out of those roles quickly and go to the next one, and I think it's normal, nobody wants to be a teenager forever.
I think it’s more than that. He is young - the sensationalism, obsession and downright inappropriate behavior of the throngs of fans everyday outside the stage door must have made it overwhelming, a bit frightening and probably became not fun anymore. I imagine it took away from him enjoying the experience and role as the whole R&J thing became more about people just trying to catch a glimpse of him and take a selfie with an out of touch reality that they “met” or had some type of meaningful experience with him at the stage door. I imagine he became numb. It was probably a relief when it was over - and perhaps he indeed wanted to burn those costume by the end haha. Hope he is well now.
People seem to take this to mean he hated the role by week 3 and wanted out, I thought it meant he was sick of sweating into the same outfit every night.
