Korean Spa

Bf and I are heading to Island in Edison tomorrow. Down to chat, relax, play. Planning late morning through early afternoon.

Looking to arrange a meet up with a guy or two next Wednesday evening after work at Psy Spa in San Leandro or Bay Spa in Santa Clara… anyone interested?

Spa Report -- While passing through DC a couple of weeks ago on a late Monday morning, I stopped to check out King Spa. My review: "Literally, not so hot."

For an area with mandatory nudity, the men's locker room wet area was downright chilly. The front door that for whatever reason needed to be left open created a serious draft into the wet area, compounded by the fact that the room ventilation in both the locker room and the wet area was also chilly given the purposes of the spaces. After showering, my damp body was literally shivering.

At 10:30AM, the dry sauna was merely "very warm." (As the other guy in there asked me, "How long have you been in here? I've been in here over 10 minutes and still haven't broken a sweat!" To be fair, the dry sauna did seem to warm up a little more by noon.)

The "hot tubs" were so close in temperature (the guy working there said the three pools were 97, 99, and 101 degrees when I mentioned the two "warm" ones basically felt like the same temperature.

Out of maybe 15 guys who I saw go through that morning, THREE of them showered with swim trunks on and left immediately to go to the roof pool area/never went further into the nude men's wet area than the showers.

Interestingly, of the five K-spas I've now been to (King Spa Chicago and the four No. VA spas), the men there at King Spa on that Monday were, unusually, nearly ALL in exceptionally fine, athletic physical shape.

The broader, clothed King Spa facilities look nice and luxurious (and warmer, with heated floors), but the wet area is kind of the main way I look to relax at a Korean spa. Less than half as enjoyable of an experience as Spa World (which had way more pools and ranges of temperatures) at more than twice the price.

Never going back to King Spa Virginia. The next time I'm through DC, I'm definitely going back to Spa World though.

How’s Immersion Spa Palo Alto nowadays? Anyone headed there this week?

Just to give an update on Spa Castle Queens since the re-opening. I've visited a few times now. Some days are hit or miss, i've only ever been on weekends (fri, sat, sun).

I still feel like the 'nudity optional' rule in the wet area is a bit unsanitary (underwear in the pools is gross), but it at least helps everyone identify who isn't interested.

There's still some hot action in the steam room, hot guys and big dicks every time i've gone. There are still 'lifeguards' but they stay outside the wet area now, and patrol far less often. Unfortunately, it's just not a lot of people still. The price is really a buzzkill. Even with a groupon a weekend is still $80+.

I'm hoping that this will spread the word that there is still fun to be had at Spa Castle Queens.

Yea that optional nudity is such a downer but at least still some are being free and nude

I went to Spa Club last Weds night. I can confirm the steam room is open. It was a good crowd, maybe 5-6 guys at any time in the wet area. check it out, and don't forget to buy the groupon or admission+service package for the discount.
I was there last week and also confirm that the steam room is working. It was my 1st time and I enjoyed myself. There weren't many guys there but most of those present were up for discreet play.

I notice the trend that after the COVID lockdowns the spas no longer stay open overnight.

That was the point of the real ones in Korea bc guys would stumble into the jjimjilbang after drinking in the bars and clubs and sleep it off in the spa. They'd wash up the next morning and go home.
