Both really. I liked the Bionicle sets especially, so coming up with creatures/heroes was always fun and easy for me. With the actual brick style sets its a little more challenging in my opinion, but still fun
I prefer the bigger builds such as the creator expert sets. Running out of space to display the builds.
my current favorite type of build is Gatling guns. I am currently working on a 400 shot barrel. It's flipping massive and takes up most of the craft/game room.
Other times I just free form click until all the little pieces turn into something. The last major build was an Asian Pagoda with surrounding gardens.
The build took a couple of weeks and was the suck to pull down.

I do have my old school Lego Mindstorms. I've had it since I was just a wee-wee lil ML. I should break it out of the closet to see how the play holds up.

I see some of the stuff on YouTube though and it makes me want to give up. Its so good.
A few years back hubby was aching for a Harley. His friend let him ride his around for a while, and I voiced my displeasure. Who am I kidding? I screamed at him asking just what kind of idiot did I marry?
He regained his sanity and did not get a Harley. But his buddy got him a Harley Softail Lego kit. There was like five instructions books that came with it! It took him days and days, but it's in his studio now. Kind of weird as he doesn't own a bike, except for that one.
