Lego afols

I had become too painfully addicted to my Legos.

Awake all hours of this night, building, tearing down, rebuilding, fingers began to bleed and still I went on. Sometimes the blocks stuck together and I'd pry them apart with my fingernails which broke my hails so I went to using my teeth to pull them apart.

It got bad real bad and at began sleeping with them.

Finally one day I told myself I had to get help and went to a local chapter of TA .(toyaholics anonymous).

The only solution was quitting cold Turkey and I had to come home and put all my Legos in a giant crate and send them off to a local charity.

It's better now my fingers aren't blistered any more and my fingernails look good again. The dark circles have disappeared from under my eyes and life is better.

Still, late at night I sometimes think I see some of my old Lego friends in the corners of my home beckoning me to join them......

You should know it's either LEGO or LEGO bricks/sets but never Legos.
Also, I'm surprised you never heard of brick separators. I've literally got dozens of these lying around because the accumulate really fast.

I don’t know if I have that many but it’s a great idea.

you write it your way and I write it mine. Doesn't take away from the meaning of what I wrote.

About separators, seen them, never used them.

Your post sounded like you tried to ridicule AFOLs. Maybe that wasn't your intention but that's the impression I got.

Sorry. I wasn't trying to ridicule anybody. What I wrote was actual stuff I dealt with when it came to me and my Legos. It was some kind of near obsession for me. Kept buying more and more and would spend hours at a time building, tearing down then rebuilding.

Only made up part was the TA (TOYAHOLICS anonymous).

Up until the part with the toyaholics everything seemed somewhat believable even though very extreme. However the toyaholics made me sure this was all made up to make fun of adults enjoying building with the bricks.
It's a pity that you couldn't keep your excitement for building with LEGO on a healthy level and had to resort to such a drastic solution to deal with the problem. That must have been a very hard decision to make.

That looks fantastic.

I wonder if they did it with Lego bricks only? Some of these very big builds have wooden or metal frames and are sometimes glued together for safety.

There's support structure inside it. you can see it in the time lapse.
