Nothing direct. He wasn't around much and lied to everyone for most of my childhood, into adulthood.
If anything, taught me that I absolutely would not live life like him or treat people the way he has. Just be the total opposite of him.

I too, learn how to be a man, by not being like him. He was a drunk, hard worker and had many different relations outside the marriage. He wasn't kind at all to us, that I was afraid of being like him. Could never make him proud of me no matter what. But, in the end ... I was glad that I got to know the man in the mirror.

I know that I'm glad I did get married. Been married over 40 years. Even though I had childhood issues. I didn't let them define me.

You know people have been saying that since the 70's.
But, this isn't the place or the form to debate that.
So, I guess I learn a lot more from my dad...
I don't think I've learnt much from him, not like he was absent or anything but we never had a single talk about serious topics or life lessons.
My dad and me we are still like good buddies.
He teached me, not to be ashamed of being a chubby and that I shouldn't be afraid of showing feelings.
Also that nudity is a normal thing and that I should try everything I want to try
