history with his debut single “Old Town Road,” which
is now number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for the

5th week in a row.

The record for most weeks at number one is currently 16
weeks. Mariah Carey and Boyz II Mens song “One Sweet
Day” and “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and
Justin Bieber are tied for that position.

Lil Nas X now holds the record for the most weeks at number
one for a debut single after surpassing Los Del Rio‘s “Macarena,”
which spent 14 weeks at number one in 1996. He also has spent
more weeks at number one than any other openly gay artist!
