London - Better Gym

I went to Kentish Town sports centre recently. Showered in men's wet area open showers. Weird setup with lockers outside so I kept my valuables in the locker. Anyway, showered with a black guy who had one of the biggest dicks I've seen in real life. Chatted a bit to him. Commented on the size. Told him it was impressive. Eventually asked him if he would let me hold it which he did. We then jerked off together. A very good visit.

Received an Email today from Better stating that they are preparing to reopen. You will have to book in advance to visit the gym. No changing rooms or shower facilities for anyone except swimmers. I'll probably keep my membership frozen until showers reopen. Apparently they are introducing an enhanced cleaning schedule which will be interesting considering many of the branches were filthy in places (sauna at hammersmith has gunge in between the wooden slats, open showers at Brixton was full of flies etc).

Oasis Sports Centre showers are 60-70% men cruising. This is the best changing room in London so please don’t be too overt and stand round literally wanking as we don’t want cubicles put in.

I was told about Oasis when attending a musical at Shaftesbury Theatre. But you describe it like a bit hotter place than I was told : ))

Yeah. I went to Vauxhall Leisure Centre. Assumed that one would be quite cruisy because, you know, Vauxhall. But it wasn't. Good facilities, and it was a stone's throw from Fire Club / MadMen so as I was walking into the gym there were loads of party gays wandering around off their nut which was kind of funny people-watching. Anyway, the changing room situation was pretty crap - just two fully enclosed shower cubicles. Wet area was mixed gender with cubicles as well.

I've been going Hammersmith mostly, and Oasis when I have spare time. The open showers in the latter are really nice and the last time I went me and some guy were stroking each others dicks while showering. He was pretty thick and uncut.

At Hammersmith I realised that although there are 3 shower heads in the open section, one is cold so if you get anyone showering with you, they end up right next to you which is nice. Especially if all the cubicles are empty and someone chooses to shower naked with you, pretty much in your personal space. One time there was one guy in a cubicle with the door closed who was chatting loudly to one naked guy in the open showers. I went and took my place in the open showers next to the naked guy. He kept on chatting to the guy in the cubicle but as he and I got comfortable we ended up stood facing each other taking time soaping up our dicks. Afterwards in the locker room he moved his stuff to come and dry off next to me. He stood around naked for a bit. I was wearing a towel but I opened my legs in his direction so he could see my big semi pointing his way.

I'd like to try out Lillie Road Leisure Centre since it's fairly close bit it's currently being refurbed. Might give Clapham Leisure Centre a go.

I've used Hammersmith, its a friendly gym and some good catches. Sauna as you say not many go naked but I also cover loosely with a towel and go from the flow best to start the trend

Just found this thread - thanks @MeatJoeBlack for putting together this list. I've have a 'Better' wide membership although I often have to explain this to staff when I visit other centres, it's been an issue since day one - apparenlty not all their systems talk to each other. Anyway....

My usual gym is Jubilee Hall in Covent Garden / Zone one. I was told up until a few years ago it was open showers but it's cubicles now, alone three sides of the room, so some face either other - frost glass covers the torso area. I've seen guys leave the doors open (as they sometimes do at the London Aquatics Centre Competition Pool Men's shower area), so some looking goes on. Jubilee Hall has a large gay client base - the men only sauna is popular - I've had fun in there in the past.

Of course it was all before Lockdown. I had an email saying they were hoping to open when the pubs did but that's not going to happen. But when it does, I think the showers will be used but the sauna will be shut for some time.

I can also confirm the comment on the Leytonstone/Cathall Road Leisure Centre. The Pool has changing village so cubicles to change and shower. There is a gym shower/changing room but the lockers are not within it - only benches and hooks which is weird. Even the staff find that odd. But there's two or three open showers on one wall and three cubicles on the other. I only ever used the showers there when I went with a mate and we showered nude in the open - because we could!

Pool at Ironmonger Row is on Better and has 3 open showers plus one cubical. Busy early mornings, lunch and at 5pm. Pre lock down. Sometimes have to wait for a shower to be free. So chance to have a decent, discrete watch.

I was in there a few months ago when it was quite quiet. There was just one other guy in the shower with me. A red head, fully shaved, uncut and thick. We gave each other the eye and started getting hard. Eventually I walked over to the shower head next to his. We started stroking ourselves, and then eventually we were pulling on each others dicks. There was barely anyone else in the changing rooms, maybe one at the far end near the entrance. Anyway, I thought we were keeping an eye out when one of the male cleaners suddenly rounded the corner. I think he saw us pull back from one another sharpish but he didn't seem to mind in the slightest and just went about his business.
Aside from that, I've seen countless semis and hard ons in that shower, and lots of guys clearly taking their time or enjoying putting on a show for anyone taking an interest. It's a great place, and the gym is good too. Never really spent much time in the gym change though. Maybe I should try that when it opens. Although they have said that showers/changing rooms will be closed when they reopen their gyms so I don't think I will go back for a while.
