It's bizarre to refuse answers to your private life? How? It's his choice how much he's willing to share. As it is mine and yours. Just because actors and other celebs walk the red carpet doesn't mean they have to explain their IG stories or anything else. No one expects that from neighbours or colleagues at work. I can only speak for myself but I simply don't care to know more of other people than what they tell me. When people asked me whether I'm gay the question always came from people who were not my friends and wouldn't become such. Everyone else knew before I was able to say it. That's why I understand that someone reacts like Lukas Gage does.

He doesn't owe us anything. Just be glad that there is an actor who doesn't mind to get naked in front of a camera. That should be applauded on this website! A part of an actor's job is to sell their own image but they want control about it. I think he does the right thing. In the old days Hollywood studios had photographers who did portraits and the gossip magazines were fed with that and some articles that rarely included any truth. But if the truth was exposed it affected gays, communists and unmarried pregnant women. No consequences for adultery to big male white stars - for blacks as Harry Belafonte and Sammy Davis Jr. it was different though. The web has changed the speed and of course celebrities make mistakes that are now more often displayed. But still: is it worth to moralize about someone who isn't willing to share his whole life with us?

And who cares how many younger partners the alleged boyfriend had before? That's a reality for many gay men. Please don't shame couples who have an age gap, it's like their weight etc. really no one's business except they decide to talk about it. I don't know why anyone wants to adapt the prudish US mentality where 25 year old guys with 18 year old girlfriends are considered pedo by the conservatives who usually do the opposite of what they pray. It leads directly to what women now experience with their reduced rights (for abortion). I don't want us gays taken back rights because we get increasingly divided by the asocial media and some fall for the false preachers. We see in Europe how the situation for those under the rainbow have worsened in Hungary, Poland and Turkey - before that their citizens were incited against minorities and imaginary enemies.

Sorry for the long answer but I've read today a bit about Gage at DL and dislike that some gossip queens try do the same self-righteous shit here. That's investing way too much negative energy for a rather unknown actor who has no effect on your lives.

It is hard to determine the exact timing because there are so many articles about the Vanity Fair appearance that cite the New York Times article.

The quote in the NYT article is specific to the vacation photos and the article was more about his recent appearances on "White Lotus" and "You".

It's still the same outcome, though. He chose to attend an event with his boyfriend after that quote about his discomfort. He chose to be photographed.

There are plenty of famous people who slip into events and award shows and sit with their boyfriends, girlfriends or same-sex partners. They both either skip the red carpet or the partner goes directly into the venue without appearing on the red carpet and they meet up later.

For example, Mike Manning's husband attended events with him but they did not pose on the red carpet together (his husband isn't a celebrity and they wanted to maintain his privacy). It wasn't until Mike won an award and thanked his husband did anyone know that they were married.

I want to think this guy is so hot, but when I see him I can't think of anything except the time a few months ago when he was in line behind me at Meg Stalter's show at the Largo tweaking, totally out of his mind, before we ended up in the restroom together – one toilet stall and one urinal – with him having the loudest, smelliest shit I've ever witnessed.
