Photos & Videos Luke Beasley

That's the thing. Is that who he really is? Because he seems to have this idealistic version of life which only exist in the lives of wealthy white people.

Something about him has always struck me as odd and I could never place my finger on it until now.

All I can say to that is that I'm white but at no point have been wealthy and my view aligns with his on both the issues you mention. My heart/mind, however you say it, just can't work that way.

I don't really know anything about him other than what he puts out there. He does stand out to me as well, but I just think that he is a true bleeding heart, someone with a really remarkable personality. Kind of an example of the type of person you aspire to be but fall short of. His temperament in confrontational situations is something I certainly lack, but that serves him so well.

Eloquently put, but I'm afraid the world is never kind to people who are so one-dimensional, for lack of a better phrase. He seems to hold sanitized views about everything to the point of appearing to lack passion for them apart from democracy. However, I'll take him over literally any other political commentator on most issues.

Because he has a calm delivery?

To me he just comes across as a well informed guy that investigates/considers all sides of most issues, definitely not the naive or ideology blind type (I remove those from the bleeding heart label and use it only to reference empathy and compassion - I'm taking that label back LOL). He just doesn't appear to be bombastic. Obviously you have those Ellen DeGeneres types that have a reputation for being completely different on camera than they are off. The possibility exists that he's a raging asshole. I'd be shocked though.

At any rate, if I was talking with some of the folks he does, I'd turn into an angry, obnoxious, idiot in two minutes flat. Those delusion dumb-ass types are hard for me to deal with. That would be the more one-dimensional approach I'd think.

That's the allure.

All these things are true and I hope it's not an act. I've never thought of it as an act.

There's nothing wrong with being angry if that's what you're feeling. It becomes a problem when that's all you are. Like being nice all the time like a character in a sitcom. Both are one dimensional I think.

Ps. I'm watching him talk about Trump walking back his "groceries down if I become president" campaign mantra.

True. I think even the people that regulate their emotions very well will always have some range there. I'm sure Beasley does in his life outside the show. A lot of hosts have a delivery style that they settle into, Anderson Cooper, Rachel Maddow, even Rogan are very dialed in.

I have to come back to this today after watching the show from yesterday. He just seems authentic with a normal variety of emotions delivered in a conversational tone. How is that 1 dimensional? What is 3 dimensional, someone overwrought in a laughable way like Alex Jones? @milkway1 has insulted my future husband stalking victim favorite commentator and it has distracted me. :p

Anyway to get back on track, here is a wink from yesterdays show.

It was more like the points he was making. His delivery is fine but the take lacks any depth IMO.

Now, I will apologize for ruining the fantasy and I believe you two will get married. 😉

Some issues simply don't leave room for nuance as accepting the justification already takes you 90% of the way there and that's where the greater problem lies. A physiological switch issue of sorts. How quickly in the thought process you reject these ideas is a kind of character trait IMO.

Certainly you can still empathize with anger against the current health care system and I think he does that already.

I wonder if they went somewhere after that meeting

He mentioned meeting a lot of the influencers at the WH holiday party. Maybe it was a very patriotic holiday orgy. All those lucky bastards better have treated our boy well.

Seriously though, he is really beaming there. This would probably be quite an event for folks invested in that world.

Everybody in this thread is likely following Luke anyway, but in case you aren't he is doing a fundraiser for a charity organization that his mom is associated with: Donate to Luke Beasley Fundraises for Foster Care (he has posted a video explaining the fundraiser).

If you have some year-end donations to make, maybe consider this organization that helps foster children. Luke made a $20k donation to start with, it's a miracle his chest can hold that huge heart of his.
