Both Mikey and Luke when you search their names on youtube have "coming out" as one of their top suggestions in the search bar. I think a lot of people have suspected they're gay.
I think Mikey is just your typical metrosexual liberal who has a somewhat high voice. I understand Mikey's frustration with people assuming he's gay because if you didn't know anything about him you would probably assume and try hitting on him.
Luke on the other hand I believe is gay. It seems like Luke got a bit needy when they were roomed together. Wanting to have an assigned hang out "all day" day. Mikey moving out to live with his girlfriend and Luke moving in with elle mills, a lesbian youtuber, i think is a bit telling. Luke's ex girlfriend, also being lesbian, speaks volumes. Also Luke traveling a lot i think is also a big of a tell. Yea, he's always been intrigued with traveling, but you want to know the easiest way to stay in the closet and get laid? Travel far away where none of the drama at home will "out" you. It's a big reason a lot of male stewards have the stereotype of being gay. I studied abroad while I was closeted and one of the reasons was to get laid. No one knew who I was or that I was even in the closet. Then I never saw them again.
The way I see it, it's just a matter of time before Luke comes out. I'd be surprised if he's straight.

Yeah a couple of friends of mine who are closest to his group of gay friends really seem to think the same thing. Obviously everyone is still waiting to find out. Being constantly on the move sure makes you quite the enigma right? lol
Makes you wonder if he’s had some long unrequited crush on Mikey, but never acted on it. Since most of his friends are LGBT you'd think he’d be comfortable coming out if he was gay/bi, but everyone’s journey is different. He does come from a pretty religious mid-west family, which might play into it. I’d love to think that when he’s globe hopping the first thing he’s doing is firing up grindr, but that sounds a little fantasy like...

Oh he totally has (had?) a crush on Mikey. They had a big fight back in 2016ish when they were living together and Mikey actually moved out for a month or two. My guess it had something to do with Luke being jealous of all the time Mikey was spending with his then-girlfriend, and/or Mikey found out about the crush and needed some time away from Luke to process how he felt about that.
Another theory is that Luke might fully be out in his personal life but doesn't want to come out publicly on YouTube because that would make it harder to travel to some countries that are homophobic

He dated a girl who later came out as a lesbian yes. He's also currently friends and roommates with a lesbian but I don't think they've ever dated.
That’s a really interesting theory on keeping sexuality on the DL for travel purposes... he travels to places like Iran, Iraq (where his parents live I think), Russia, Columbia (where he was mugged at gun point), etc...
Let’s not forget how suspicious it is that he met a “secret” girlfriend no one knew about through the internet.
This might sound horrible but the most interesting thing about Connor was that there was a possibility that he was gay. For me at least.

Yeah I’m pretty sure about the crush on Mikey, I’ve had a crush on my straight best friend for years and acted exactly like Luke, being jealous and shit.

Not the first time I’ve heard it and it does make a certain amount of sense. Dan Howell made the same point somewhere in his magnum opus, because his last tour included several countries he would have had problems getting into if he was out.
