It's a really hot day, on the construction site, dozens men working actively but one is seen standing out from the batch. Tanned skin glistening with sweat from the strong heat,lifting heavy charges of stones, Josh is a regular guy, 35yo working in contruction, single but having much success with women and men, the guy stand 6ft8 and 280 lbs, very muscular, he workout everyday for a couple of hours alongside his job. He work for around 9/10 hours per day.
The man never stops, he even volunteer to bring some papers to a coworker named Franck on sick leave, indeed he fell on the construction site and broke his arm and can't work for months. Josh accepted to help his coworker, so after work he go to Franck's place to bring him the stuff. Franck open the door and warmly welcome Josh and invite him for a drink. Franck helped Josh when he firstly joined the company, he was like a mentor for Josh in his first months in this work, that's why Josh accepted to help Franck with papers. As they sat on the sofa drinking a beer, Josh notice on the desk some miniature landmarks, intrigued by the realism he say... « It's very nice looking replicas you have here, looks pretty like the real things but... shrunk haha » Josh laugh and Franck smile too saying « I got hands on theses recently, I don't had time to put them under glass protection but take a closer look. » Josh stand up and walk to the desk, there can be seen Mt Rushmore, Taj Mahal, Pisa tower and the great sphinx. Not daring to touch them he carefully look at them when Franck say, « I like to collect such pieces of art, landmarks are treasures of our world. We have to protect them... That's why I stole them and shrunk them to protect... »
A blank occurs for fews secondes before Josh look at Franck in suprise and ask to repeat. But Franck decide to walk out of the room and come back with a weird device in his hand, an object looking like a gun toy. « What the fuck man ?! Why you don't say anything and what that's toy ? You think to threat me with that cheap looking gun ? »
Franck decide to answer looking concerned to Josh. « Josh, It's not a toy, it's a size shifting device, I have a brother scientist working in military labs, he had this device at home so when I found it and discovered what it can do I decided to realize my child's dream and collect all the famous landmarks and protect them. My brother is unaware of it...» Stunned by what he hear, Josh answer. « Do you have any idea of the consequences man ? You can be throwed in jail for that, and what if there are peoples in thoses landmarks you shrunked ? » « Don't worry ! The landmarks was empty at the moment I shrunk them, This device can scan the globe and you select the area or obejct you want to shift the size and you can teleport where you desire the target at the size you choose. Josh is looking in shock to the device. Showing interest Josh ask how is it working.
Happy to finally share his secret with someone and trusting him, Franck decide to show how the device work. « Ok then come here, on the side of the canon is a small screen,you see? It show the world map, you can zoom to take a specific target and when you got it you just have to select the settings here, see ? There is a growth button and a shrink button and there is a switch with three levels Minimum,Medium and Maximum, you too have a charging option to make effect of the selected level even stronger. Do you want any specific landmark around Asia you want to shrink ? It's night time there, so I can just verify if there's no one here to shrink with the landmark. Josh think for fews secondes and say « Let's pick the great wall of China ! » « Ohhhh okay nice choice, ok let me select the whole landmark aaaaaannnnd got it ! » Then pulling the trigger, an intense white light illuminate the tip of the canon then Franck add « I use the charging option because the landmark is very massive so I have to load the energy to make it shrink very much and use the last historic teleporting location to bring it on the table. »
