But they are, the only difference is the release platforms. Obviously a studio release would gain more attention than an OF release.
Okay then. Let me list the ways they are certainly not.

- Malik is openly and famously g4p. Arad is/was identifying as just gay when he started porn. (hence the "backlash")

- Malik has already done scenes with women... There is nothing to outrage over. Arad got outrage for his first scene with a woman.

- Arad got considerable backlash not just because of his sexuality but also his cultural background too. Malik is just a white Canadian guy. There won't be any similar backlash just on those grounds

So yeah. Not very comparable really.
