I saw him in "The Truth About Charlie". I thought that movie was pretty decent. He is supposed to be in a new Disney movie about a Brooklynite trying out for the Giants. I saw the preview...just forgot the name of the movie. He looks really nice with the shoulder length hair. (The only thing that is turning me off about the movie is that Tony Danza is in the movie as well. Hehehe.) I will go and see that one regardless.

Yeah, "Planet of The Apes" remake sucked. "Boogie Nights" sucked.

The thing that I find about Mark Wahlberg as an actor is that, no matter how much I admire a performance in the theatre, it doesn't hang in my head afterward. It has no staying power somehow.
Don't know what to say about that, actually.
I've liked a number of his performances, however. One that comes to mind was his performance as David McColl in Fear, a decade ago.
He plays a psychopath, extremely well.

I have all 6 "Planet of the Apes" on video and I rate the Mark Wahlberg version 3rd or 4th best. The first is the best and the second is the second best. It was all downhill until Marky Mark did the remake.

The director, Tim Burton, is great, but he is not very popular. His terrific "Mars Attacks!" came out at the same time as the similar "Independence Day". "Mars Attacks!", a fun movie with a good cast flopped, whereas the boring soap opera "Independence Day" was a smash hit.

Tim Burton's "Ape" has the best apes and best special effects. Mark Wahlberg does a competent job, and Rick Baker's makeup is astonishing. The "Making of" is interesting and we learn that the actors trained to walk like various apes. Wahlberg says it's not a remake, just Burton's version.

I think it's a good movie and I enjoy watching it.

Excuse me, but I have to go back to watching "The Commitments", a film about a crummy soul band in Dublin. What's most interesting is everybody is white european, even crowds of whites. Ireland must be one of the last places where multi-racialism and multi-culturalism haven't taken over.

"ROCK STAR" starring Mark Wahlberg

I'm just like Senor Rubirosa when it comes to remembering Mark Wahlberg. I can't. When I try to think of what he looks like, an image of Kevin Dean comes to mind.

'Rock Star" is a failure. I saw it a couple of years ago and I can't remember anything about it.

It has no verisimilitude whatsoever, no credibility. The music is shit. There are tens of thousands of screaming fans at live concerts going crazy when they hear music that is shit. If it weren't so loud, the heavy metal "muzak" would put everybody to sleep.

I can't remember the plot or anything, but as a musical it is a complete failure.

There is one scene in Boogie Nights in which I think Mark Wahlberg's REAL cock is used.

It's early on in the film--when he comes home after being "discovered" by Burt Reynolds at the restaurant. Walhberg goes into his room and strips down to his briefs--which are bright, shocking red!
