I agree they all had some train wreck issues lol That job wasn't for them It just made their personal issues worse.

Being in the bi/pan spectrum is also extremely common in straight porn. A lot of those guys who mostly/only do hetero porn mess around with guys and/or trans people off camera. A lot lie about their experiences, preferences, dating life, where they are in the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum. A lot will say or do anything for money, opportunities, attention, validation. A lot contend with past traumas, mental health struggles, depleted egos, internalized phobias, queer insecurities, gay resentments.
Overall, it’s best not to take what these porn performers present that seriously. Just wank off and keep it pushing. While Markie seems particularly troubled and seems to be struggling with a lot. Him getting out of and staying out of sex work is probably for the best.

Yes some aren't, some are, they do it for the money to get that fast paycheck and lifestyle etc. Some do it to pay for college, bills, handled a family situation. Some of these men are married with a woman with kids and do it for the money. Some do it because they like sex and that helps them put a roof over their heads to have a better lifestyle to invest in money etc.

Which interviews are you referring to? If (big if) he really does have a son, he doesn't have any relationship with him considering how erratic his living situation has been since he's quit porn.

However, identity politics, prejudice, traumas, mental health and not completely understanding the entirety of the orientation spectrum and the entirety of "sexuality" often gets in the way of men keeping it completely real.
So, I wouldn't be surprised if indeed at least half of guys who mostly/only do hetero porn do indeed have queer dimensions. What's definitely true is that authentic, real-real heterosexuality and homosexuality is probably the minority in the sex work world and that real-real "gay4pay" and "straight4pay" is way less common than it was promoted to be.

While identity politics, male homophobia, ego, insecurities, sociology, traumas, mental health often keep men from really examining their make-up and their motivations. And the sex work world is all about fantasy, ego and money.
