Still lots of mixed feelings about the news but for me personally I think he should've stayed away. This movie already has a lot of controversy and now he's the target. And it's not like he's not getting work, he does has movies lined up. He might not be Jenna Ortega levels of booked but he didn't necessarily need Scream anymore, imo. Oh well hopefully people will calm down by the time the movie is released.

With that said, after a night of thinking about it, a lot of the projects he’s doing are indie/artsy films so he probably isn’t get paid a lot compared to mainstream projects. Still doesn’t excuse this but at least would be understandable if he’s simply making sure his rent and bills are paid. I’m sure his daddy is broke. There’s other ways to make money though with how fine he is. Not just OF but modeling / doing endorsements until something better comes along

Having a sufficient PR team / social media manager to help you in times like this IS standing up for yourself. He doesn’t have to defend himself to anyone if he doesn’t want too nor does he owe anyone an explanation but he also doesn’t need to let his socials just be filled with hate and let false narratives about him spread. At the very least protect your mental health and turn off the comments.

All I’m saying is if he and his team knew in advance that doing this project was gonna be controversial then they could’ve at least been smart and had a plan in action so that there would be less of an reaction. I personally don’t think ignoring everything and hoping things goes away is the answer as he can’t really hide forever. As I already said his next movie comes out in 2 months (February). Interviewers are gonna bombarded him so would it not be smart to get ahead of the story?

I don’t think being related to that man is helping him get into any doors honestly either. That reputation is tarnished.

Him booking a Gregg Araki movie seems like going into the right direction and I’m hoping he has a great role in it. But things like Y2K seem like a waste of time. Movie was not good and he had a small part.
