Shame he's not a big social media person for whatever reason, cause a savvier actor would have used the following he got from shadowhunters to garner a bigger profile. Talkin gym vids, thirst traps and random endearing stuff fans used to 100% eat up.
I mean, stans will buy whatever the hell you're selling, and it having an active fanbase wouldn't hurt when it came to booking jobs either. But it's kinda dried up without content.

I think he’s selective about his roles because money isn’t really a factor from him. He and his sister grew up wealthy all of their lives. So he’s not pressed to find another huge role to stay relevant, but more so doing a Dylan Sprouse and doing projects that pique his interest

Well I wouldn’t say money isn’t a factor, he’s got a baby and his wife doesn’t work. Yes, his parents are wealthy and he comes from old money (his grandfather was a New York senator) but there is no evidence they support their children beyond giving them an education.

I think he stumbled into acting because (1) he had the looks and (2) didn’t know what to do with himself after college and because his sister Alex ran in the NYC acting circles at the time it just happened. He doesn’t have the flair or the range for it and certainly lacks the social skills required to advance an acting career. He’s just a very private person and that simply doesn’t jive with acting.

They used to live on the UES in a decent neighborhood while he had a steady acting gig but have since moved to Ohio to his wife’s parents presumably so that the kid can grow up in a more child friendly environment aka something other than a one bedroom New York apartment.

The rare acting gigs he picks up these days don’t really strike me as carefully or eclectically chosen but rather simply a paycheck. The entire cast of Shadowhunters, the show that really gave most of them a career start or at least a major boost, are all in the same boat with very few of them getting steady work since it got canceled.

katherine somehow manages to get a few decent roles here and there despite having the acting capabilities of a cardboard cut out, but she's pretty so that's why.
i think alberto and harry are the only ones that have gotten steady gigs post shadowhunters

I mean they all are doing decent for the most part. Just because they’re not booking roles left or right others isn’t a bad thing. Noah C books a lot of roles but all it shows is he’s one dimensional. Tom Holland is another booked and it’s actually starting to hurt him because he’s over exposed. Dom had the stint on Penny Dreadful, Harry had the CRA cameo and EEAAO roles, Kat’s done a few project and is cast on a new show and Matthew has also booked roles, and MMM isn’t a bad look for him. It’d would be shocking if he wasn’t concerned about money being a 3rd gen nepo baby. But as you said, he’s gotten married and had a child, so I think he would prefer investing more time to enjoy his family before getting into anything to demanding in career.
