This is the response from Max's facebook page 2 months ago:
Dear Joe Giron, I'm not sure if you're just trying to provoke or if you're simply poorly informed. But, to stick to the facts:
1) This was not Max's crowdfunding, but the crowdfunding of the producers, kurhaus productions.
2) The crowdfunding was certainly not a scam. On the contrary: All promises made were kept. Unfortunately, however, the crowdfunding raised much less money than assumed at the beginning. Instead of the required 3 million euros, only 152,348 euros were raised in the end. With so little money you can't even produce an arthouse film with the best will in the world - if you want to set some value on quality and also pay at least the crew and some of the actors.
3) Despite the very poor outcome of the crowdfunding, all parties involved sat down and decided to realize the project anyway. As already communicated during the crowdfunding, the 152,348 euros could be used to write a screenplay that provides the basis for a film adaptation.
4) This screenplay is now ready and talks with investors have taken place to produce a second part despite the failed crowdfunding and thus fulfill the wishes of the fans.
5) It is still planned to produce this second part. And as soon as the conditions allow it, this second part will also be produced.
So in the end, nobody was scammed. On the contrary: From the very beginning, it was absolutely clear that 3 million euros would be needed to produce a second part. But fans - thankfully, I don't want to minimize this at all - ultimately donated 152,348 euros instead of the 3 million euros. That's just 5,08 percent of the amount needed.
Please tell me how you come to talk about scam by the producers.
Yes, I know. It was a response from Max's page admin for somebody that claimed it is a scam.Got a link to this? It isn’t showing up when I search his page.
Also I didn’t call it a scam I said it looked suspect, the lack of update particularly, so don’t put words in my mouth.
