despite it becoming more socially acceptable in Hollywood, it's still more likely to damage a career than help it if a male actor comes out as gay.

That's, sadly, still true. It's said that if you want to cast an actor as a straight romantic lead (let's say Max in a college rom-com about a loveable or shy dude trying to get the popular girl), and the audience knows the actor isn't straight, virtually every moment they're thinking "not plausible" and the "suspension of disbelief" can't happen. And that's even if the actor makes it to casting and the project happens. We can separate our actors and their personal lives from their roles in many ways, but unfortunately, sexuality is still one key sticking point that, by and large, the average moviegoer can't.

he just had his wisdom teeth removed so his mouth has swollen up (slightly), he's still beautiful

here's poor Max at recent UCLA "Nike Christmas" event were they get their first of the season gift bags of various stuff....he had just had his wisdom teeth extracted earlier that day.... look how his poor cheeks are swollen...think he he is still half looped from what ever his oral surgeon gave him for it...
