Neither the dick nor car is aligned parallel with the lens. The car also isn’t flat or with minimal thickness like most rulers or tapes, so the top side of it is slightly closer to the lens that the top side of the dick. These seem like minor things but they can add up to noticeable errors.

Sure but for a ballpark estimation it's still pretty good. If the car was right in the middle of the dick it would be closer to the lens and would appear a bit bigger. But if the length of the car was flush with the top of the dick it would appear a bit smaller. So the two kind of cancel each other out. BTW it looks to me like a Lamborghini Huracan, at 1/64 it should be exactly 7cm, not 7.5.

Yes I didn’t mean it’s entirely useless, just not as flawless as the person who made it probably thought.

I found the exact car model and it's not 1/64 but 1/60, which would make it 7.43cm. Corrected from the 7.5cm the guy used, the ruler should read 20.3cm instead of 20.5, and that's with a rather generous NBP starting point IMO.

Generous starting point to say the least. I actually think that’s counting 1.5 cm of groin. Thats not to say I think Danny D is only 18.8 cm. Could be the curve or sone camera effect.
