Michael Bishop (New Jonathan Kent)

It was a recent addition to the comics canon. Had they the chance for a 7-season shiw as the showrunners had planned, MAYBE we'd got Mikey boy kissing dudes in the show

Doubtful. IIRC Helbing was mainly interested in the family dynamics rather than the superheroics because he was basing the whole premise on his own family—hence the two sons rather than just one.
The thing about queerness and this show is that, yes, both the boys on the show are very different from the Jon in the comics. And Jon did come out as bi after the show was already started, so they would have had to scramble a bit. I mean, not an imposisble scramble by any means. Titans did it with much less time. But a scramble.

But Natasha Irons has been dating women since before the show started and they still decided to pair her with a male OC. It's not one of the male love interests she had before she started dating women, it's not a known character from the comics, it's just a random character they made up. Could have easily been a woman. And they have referenced some really obscure facts about Natasha in relation to Natalie, like two code names she used for about two issues each are referenced, but not her being a lesbian.

It's clear that there was an intentional choice from the creative team to keep LGBTQ+ characters out of Smallville.

Unless there's a quick Kent-fam-on-the-beach scene in the series finale, there is no way we're seeing him shirtless😭
I hope he soon finds work where he can do shirtless scenes and better yet, sex scenes where he shows his ass or something.

They both have a suit. The pictures are from an upcoming BTS book about the show but it's not clear if we'll actually get to see them

With only one episode left I'm pretty sure that we won't get to see the boys in their supersuits. My guess is that they couldn't make it happen because of their limited budget this season. In Interviews for the other Arrowverse shows they always talked about how expensive those suits are so I doubt that they'll spent the money for a few minutes screentime. Maybe we'll get a CGI shot of them flying in ther suits instead at the end

Felt very emotional watching the finale but that CGI shot of them in their suits made me laugh just because it was exactly what I imagined when I predicted it :skull:

They could be use more handsome actors for the adult version. Don't like very much the ones they used...

And the final battles should be more time too. They waste a little too much time and 'inferior' things. Or at least the final episode should be more running time, just like the premiere did, almost 50mins.

Alex talking about how he and Michael wore black skin suits and a harness that showed off their crotches for the supersuit scene. They should post some BTS pics of them in these suits :eyes:

Well, you were watching something funny! Basically, they had me in all black leotard, like a black skin suit, all the way up and down. So you could see every bit of my skin. Then they had you in a harness to fly, and the harness would latch right around your crotch area, thereby lifting your crotch out to the world. And then that was the day while the executives showed up from Los Angeles! [laughs] So I'm walking out there making jokes with people, like, 'Hey! I have no modesty left. I have no modesty left whatsoever. This is what they're doing to me.' And then, of course, the executives are right there, and I'm like, 'Oh my God!' I'm like walking by them - ridiculous, I hope it looks cool on camera, though.

The finale was good. Wish it was a bit longer though.
I disagree. I felt like it was a slap in the face of fans to have him marry a woman and heterowash his sexuality. I get that, technically, it's a 'different universe' and all of that, but there are so few queer characters in the universes to begin with. I could sort of understand if they heterowashed him because the series was continuing, but it's the finale. Make it happen. Fuck the network and their ridiculous bullshit. What would the haters do at this point? Cancel you again? It pissed me off and left a sour taste, tbh.

Even if this Jonathan is bi it means he still can marry a woman. It's 50/50 with bi people, you know. He can always end up with a woman even after tasting all dicks in Smallville, Metropolis and anywhere else😁
But this Jonathan is all but straight, and even if he was revealed as a bi man, the presence of his husband in a couple of seconds-long cameo hardly would've changed anything and would most likely make haters and homophobes angry

As much as I am all for bi Jonathan I feel like it would have been a weird choice and probably too confusing to a lot of people if they would’ve shown him with a man in the future after showing no sign of bisexuality in 4 seasons. It would‘ve probably felt lazy and cowardly to me like they’d be saying "Here you got what you wanted for 5 seconds without us having to write a decent storyline of him exploring his sexuality“ so I actually prefer it the way it played out. Also I don’t think that we can blame the network considering the number of queer characters in their other shows.

You may be correct about the network, but with a queer showrunner it feels even weirder that they straightwashed another character. And it would have been easy to add a line about him coming out, etc. This show just felt homophobic
