ok, not to totally rip off the "current tune" thread...
what do you like to listen to at the gym?

I am partial to Hard Rock, Punk, Metal..
typically, my playlists are nothing but.
pantera, alkaline trio, atdi,
but I also mix it up with Lords of Acid, and RevCocks..
maybe some of the reverand too..
if im feeling crazy!
how bout you?>

I dont like they stuff they play so i take the ipod playing a choice along the lines of

Chili peppers, Pearl Jam, STP, Bowie, Lou Reed, Switchkicker with the occasional Ramones, The Doors, The Exploited, Gisli, Scissor sisters

Hardcore/Metalcore

Alove for Enemies, Bleeding Through, The Bled, Darkest Hour, "Drop Dead, Gorgeous", The Devil Wears Prada, Escape the Fate, Hopesfall, Haste the Day, Norma Jean, On Broken Wings, Underoath

And of course, The Receiving End of Sirens <- not hardcore, but amazingly good.

I work with a trainer much of the time, so I don't wear earphones; I get along w/ what the place pipes in.

Given that not only am I nearly 60, but I was never really into rock (when I was under 25*, I was in the folk revival instead), it's not suprising that whenever I notice myself liking the music, it's almost always unsuitable for working out! For that purpose, it needs to be simple and pounding. So when stuff I like is on, usually the station gets changed--which is a Good Thing!

If I ever do go to 'phones, I think I'll try brass bands playing marches. There've gotta be CDs, right? Even though you can't get a radio station that plays 'em regularly, let alone exclusively!

* I've heard it said, and it seems to be about true, that after you turn about 25 they never write songs you really love again!

Non stop Techno.. It's actually some cds that I copied from a store that I used to work at. I just started listening to my iPod (while working out) a few weeks ago and it makes a big difference... the time just seems to fly by, and i'm able to concentrate better.
