Part of me feels like a lot of their racist views stem from their parents because they are still young. Nick is a self proclaimed mama's boy, so if she harbors those types of views it will take him a lot longer for him to see the world in his own eyes. New York City has a lot of transplants and a lot of them come here with ignorance, racism and close-mindedness.
