even thou he looks nothing like a 17 y.o. high schooler, kudos to Hulu for actually casting queer actors to portray queer characters etc
Surely in ALL of Hollywood, Hulu could find a more age appropriate hot younger gay actor to play "Nick"!!
Slow clap kudos only here > this character was only a minor supporting role in a handful of episodes!
And most viewers would readily acknowledge he looks much older than 17!:):)

Anyone who’s seen Skins begs to differ, I think. And the “sex scenes” in Love Victor were far, far more tame

Yup > Heartstopper and Young Royals both definitely supports your well-reasoned point of view!:)
Edvin Ryding had just turned 18 when he did his intimate scene with Omar and most viewers were totally uncomfortable and very emotionally disturbed.....not

most people who've seen any of the 1000 teen tv shows played by 25 year olds would concur. Euphoria would not be as big as it is if it actually looked like 15 year olds were playing it. Most viewers would feel like predators while watching sex scenes

unlesyou yourself are underage there's truly no reason you should be fighting for younger looking people to be cast in these provocative roles

Wait, are you saying just because it’s LGBTQ+ it’s provocative and that the actors who are cast should be older? I for one think it’s important to see representation of LGBTQ+ actors at all ages, especially young ones like that show Luke Mullens was on, that one about a blended family, Ugly Betty, even Heartstoppers having actual 15 year olds playing the role is an important step In representation.

I think a lot of the time they cast older actors because they won’t have to adhere to work laws regarding minors.
