For me, it’s not too steamy as it was before. The lights are brighter now and the guys don’t really care. I was there about two weeks ago and it was basically a full on orgy going on. There was about 10 of us in there going at it. Very hot. It was a late Thursday night around 8-830pm

At 34th? Really? Wow I would have never thought the East Side gyms were so wild.
Sounds like NYSC on 41st street pre-COVID when there used to be massive orgies in the sauna. I'm not exaggerating. Orgies and in full on sucking and fucking...with like 2 dozen dudes in the sauna.
Those were the good ole days. I think pretty much all of the NYSC locations had full on orgies in their saunas and steamrooms. It was definitely the case at 49th & Broadway. Their downstairs sauna was always full, especially in the afternoon/ night time.
I gotta check out Crunch 34th. Let’s see what the hype is about. Otherwise 38th will reign supreme
I went to 34th a few days ago late at night around 9 and it was pretty dead. There was this one older man who was there for a long time who I think was pretty much deterring everyone from going in. Certainly has a right to be there but I think each individual should realize that if no one wants to play with them they should just move on. 38th definitely has a lot of sexual tension but nearly impossible to play in sauna. Tribeca is a hit or miss and last week they were limiting towels due to a laundry issue. I wonder what other spots are out there that have regular play similar to crunch, perhaps a ymca?
I agree with this. It’s unfortunate when guys don’t get the hint.
Yes. Just go onto the website and there should a way to get a guest pass for the day.
Unfortunately it seems like everytime I’m there now it’s a bunch of….unsavory….people who stick around for hours, never get the hint, and absolutely never use the actual gym
yes, it's kinda crazy. I went in last week and saw one of the guys that stays there for hours. I saw him coming into the gym at the same time as me and he went straight to the steam. I figured he'd be gone by the time my workout was done but even after an hour and half he still there. It was kind of mind blowing. The cleaning guy was cleaning the showers too so I just opted to leave. Definitely a deterrent for play if that's what crunch wants. That and the limited towels is also a bit weird lately.
Limited towels? Maybe that was a one day thing because I haven't encountered that problem anywhere.

Ur type is the real problem. U have no one to blame but urself. U speak about these spaces as if they are ur private hook up spaces. If someone wants to be there for hours, who cares. U only notice them because ur obsessed w/screwing, no matter what u tell urself w/ur ‘I’m actually there to mainly workout’ bs. Focus on u and the ones u think are worthy, and shut the fu*k up.

No, u play games and go in and out being OBVIOUS to all others and the gym staff. It makes the locker room uncomfortable. I have an IDEA- IF u want ur alone time w/only the guys u find as hot-get a hotel room or find a park. Leave the steam/sauna for others, stop having them shut down, and let guys of all types have a space to be nude together and bond! Don’t u all ever get it??? A room of say 8 guys all leave the gym that day w/no play, not blowing loads b/c of 1 guy? It’s so easy to see a difference at gyms outside NY/LA- the vibe is one of bonding and openness and, for example, say 8 guys, many 10s in looks w/some 5-7s and say 2 trolls all will have the hottest JO together. And the 10s can still touch or do more w/only each other in that setting. How many days have u lost out b/c of ur bs? NYC cruising is 80% or MORE of WASTED TIME and guys going in and out, in and out.
And like every gym in the past, from NY HRC, NYSCs, David Barton’s, etc., ur bs vibes DRIVES AWAY all the HOTTEST straight and curious guys, and other gay men, AND then ur obvious play, when you actually do it EVENTUALLY gets CAUGHT. Then, no one has a space to play. Then you bitch here even more.
I say this as someone who has lived in nyc for 15+ yrs having seen it forever. Lemme guess, ur gonna attack me saying I’m a fatty or old or a troll. I’m very much not and not gonna play prove it games w/pics or bs. I’ve been the 28 waist, college twink, the muscle gay, etc etc. AND the thing that never changes is this whining, wasting time, and U ALL CAUSING NO ONE TO FEEL COMFORTABLE TO PLAY.
