It was better than the lackluster Tokio 2020 opening and the pretty but not oustanding Rio one. My favorite is still Athens 2004. Second Beijing, third Sydney 4th London 5th Barcelona.

The blue smurf was definitely a bit much for me.

But taking that segment out I think it was a great ceremony. Celine slay the shit out of her performance and as a metalhead, seeing Gojira was incredible.

I can't believe they made the athletes swim in that cesspool. They are running the mixed relay triathlon right now; I'm watching it on the telly & wouldn't ya know, they are back swimming in the cesspool Seine. It reminds me of Kramer swimming in the East River on Seinfeld lol.
