Yeah, horny hope and delusion (from women and gay men) is alive and well. Not exactly shocking news. Doesn't mean any of it is real, but fantasies are fine, that should be enough... but ofc people can't separate fantasy from reality these days.

I agree with you. I think the shipping goes way too far, specially with the way people from the fandom has been treating Edvin's girlfriend straight up harrassing her (and Edvin too when he is not feeding the Edmaries tbh). I adore both Omar and Edvin and I do not think that assuming they are friends is reaching when that's the way they talk about each other time and time again.
If at least one of his songs went viral, like those songs by Rema (Baby Come Down), Tyla (Water), Victor Tompson, I forgot the name of his song, among others, that would help him a lot. Although these singers I mentioned above, people say they are singers with just one hit, but with that they gained thousands of followers overnight, singing at well-known festivals, etc... Tyla even sang at Lollapalooza here in Brazil last year, because of this song "Water", which made her known. And I think Omar's style suits Lollapalooza a lot. Anyway, I think it would make him better known
I have never heard of Rema, Tyla or Victor Tompson and I consider myself updated on music industry. Of course just from European perspective. So, it really is quite a complex and difficult industry. To actually become global (household) name, that's super hard.
I didn't know them either, I only got to know them after their songs went viral. The songs are good, although I don't know their other songs. I just didn't really like Tyla's music. Anyway, I'm rooting for Omar to go viral

I feel you kinda missed my point. Unless you are a real, IRL friend, confidant or relative of either one of them, you know as little as the shippers. Your assumption is as much of the result of your own perspective and motives, as it is with the shippers.
We only know what we actually see. And then all of us interprete that from our own context. What we saw this week was over-the-top behavior for platonic friends, but it still does not mean there is something actual going on *right now*. But clearly we witnessed very emotional moments all throughout the evening.
(Since it seems that shipping them is a symptom of being horny and lulu, what would be the reason for denying all possibility of them actually having a thing going on, or them moving to that direction at some point? Why are there people who clearly get very agitated with that possibility?)
