I don’t really hold any of this against that creator. We may not like it but downloading is against OF’s policy and creators do have the right to want their content kept to themselves. They’re within bounds to be saying what they’re saying here and, loyal or not, this fan was frankly an idiot outright asking for permission to do something that is against the site’s rules. I don’t know what he expected.

DRM is bad and we need to make it clear to creators that it’s a problem, but the reason we need to be explaining is that it negatively affects users who are not downloading anything. Videos play in bad quality (or not at all) and can’t be mirrored to another monitor, which is a massive hit to the user experience for people who are following all of the rules and just trying to watch the content they subscribed to. This is what we need to be explaining to creators, the fact that this setting is a blanket punishment to all of their fans regardless of whether they’re downloading or not. If they know that and still decide to keep DRM on, it’s their right to make that decision, just like it’s our right to not subscribe because of it.

Exactly this! The last part is what I’m agreeing with. My issue even in the original post of this thread. Was never about the not downloading part. I can completely understand creators not wanting us to download their stuff. They have their own reasons. And let the benefits & cons of that weigh on them. My MAIN issue with DRM is that it prevents airplay. And the other issues people are having such as lower quality, playback issues, etc. etc. It’s at the point where if I subscribe to an OF with it, I literally am throwing my money away because I can’t enjoy the videos on my tv screen. I’m not about to get off looking at these tiny phone screens uncomfortably when I have a nearly 60 inch Smart TV. Would I like the ability to be able to also download the videos I like so I can watch them whenever yes but I much rather at this point just have a functional OF account creator that I can airplay on my TV. To enjoy it.

I’ve seen Reddit threads like that on PPV and it seems like creators who have either of those on do not care about their subscribers.

It’s always cool to learn new vocabulary and etymology. But yeah, as you can see, many do not think highly of us and rather deem we have money to burn, are porn addicted or are simply foolish or so sinful and wicked. And it is true we can enjoy so much porn, nudes and erotica without ever spending a dime!

For these reasons, content creators should respect and value us who choose *with absolutely no obligation* to give them regular financial support and help put food on their table, help pay their bills, clothes, tuition, trips, etc. in this economy. Maybe some of those models also see us as simps, and that’s doubly awful.

What seems ludicrous to me is that for exactly zero dollars and zero cents I can get a seamless viewing experience by going to pornub or boyfriend.tv and stream whatever I want at the quality I want ... and yes download if I want.

If you have Android there is a product called 1DM on the app store.

You start it up, it gives you a list of all your subscriptions, you pick one and it comes up with a list of all the videos available and you either pick download all or go through and select and it will then chug away quietly and doing a bulk download.

Apparently multiple files are available for each video and people pick the 720 only to reduce the amount of downloads.

It’s ridiculous how much they’re charging. I think $50 is outrageous and that seems to be the average to high end of their prices. Usually they’re charging $20 (still too high) when there’s no preview or trailer. They give no information other than a cheeky sentence or two.
Yeah, I’d much rather take that money and resub to someone I know is worth it or tip them as a thanks for what they do. Many of these accounts have popped up less than a year ago so it’s most definitely a get rich quick scheme. They’re ruining the site for people who actually put in work and don’t just turn their phones on to record clips less than a minute to charge $20 each for.
