What's the difference?
I use it, I even paid for it, and when it works it's great, though it would be nice if it had a batch download and convert function for OF. But right now it's not working because you have to log in to your OF account within the YT browser, and the recaptcha test is endless. It just goes on and on, requiring you to eliminate countless pics of motorcycles, busses, crosswalks, traffic lights, stairways, etc. It never lets you log in, so you can't download anything.
It has had this problem before and was eventually fixed with an update, but a subsequent update broke it again, and the response I get from support is 'please be patient, we're working on it.'
I do Not have any similar problems... It's updated on a regular basis... Even today there was a new update.
Never have any problem logging within YT browser...
Well, you are blessed. I already had applied that update, and the problem persists. A problem YT support acknowledges, hence their 7 'we're working on it' emails to me over the two instances of the problem, the latest email this morning.
I'm glad I am not the only one with this issue. My eyesight sucks for things like this. I assumed I was just making mistakes.

It's a crying shame the only apparent option is to pay a 3rd party like YT Saver to be able to save videos we're already paying OF for.

I had the same problem with the paid version. I eventually linked my OF account with Twitter account and logged in that way. I really did not want to do all that as I do not trust using my logging info via third parties, but that was the only way I was able to get in. Like you said, its great when it works, but the captcha stuff was a pain the ass.
It also did not recognize videos on JFF. I tried both the main wall and via a playlist. I did not renew after my last license expired earlier last month, so an update may have improved that.
As I and some others already mentioned, StreamFork works - it's paid but it works perfectly, have not encountered any issues in the few months I have been using it.
