He does not have to follow anyone. Each of them play their own versions, and whoever plays Johnny Storm has to at least be too charming. And sexy. All of which Paul is.
I mean yeah, everyone has their own personal favorites for HT, but Paul is not a bad choice.

Sorry, I don't see it. Paul is like the hottest guy at a random Dublin pub. Johnny Storm is one of the hottest characters in any Marvel medium, and Chris Evans in the 2005 movie literally was the gay awakening for an entire generation.
I just see it as a downgrade and a miscast, and systematic of Marvel's glaring lack of eye candy in their recent projects (which, coincidentally, have been received poorly).

I'll give you that. Alas, good acting does not equate good casting, especially when it comes to superhero movies. Like, Brie Larson has an Oscar, for all the good it did her in Captain Marvel.

Why should they cast eye candy rather than actor who can deliver a good performance? Its the MCU, not a porno. He’s an incredibly talented, Oscar and BAFTA nominated actor who would bring a much needed sense of quality to a series that has been short on genuinely compelling male actors for a little while now.

The thing you're missing is that Paul Mescal is eye candy to many people, and has been since Normal People aired. You may not be attracted to him, but make no mistake, a lot of people are.
I don't want him in the MCU, because I'd rather he do genuinely creative work.
You guys can drop this subject now, all entertainment scoopers and gossip accounts are saying Marvel has gone back to auditions so all the names previously rumored are no more.
