The amount of hate his (alleged) casting is getting from MCU fanboys is next level. The MCU is in the toilet anyway, they should be grateful for such a big get as Pedro.

The funniest part are the ones going, "but..but...muh Adam Driver!" Man, if the options are looking at Pedro's fine DILF ass on the big screen for 2 hours or Adam Driver's ugly mug...like, how's that even a choice?

Yeah, he wouldn't have been my first choice, mainly because I really wanted them to go with lesser-known actors instead of big names and because I don't like the 15 year age gap between Pedro and the rumored choice for Sue. But Pedro would be 10x times a better choice than Adam Driver, Matt Smith, John Krasinski, etc.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. I absolutely ADORE Pedro, and I think he is a very talented actor. However, I think none of the names that have been mentioned are quite right for the role. I am glad Adam Driver turned down the role ‘cause, out of all the names mentioned, he was my least favorite name.

I wish they would hire a lesser known actor. The beauty of the MCU casting has always been hiring the right person, not the most popular one.

I'm amuses to hear Adam, Pedro, and Diego Luna were all apparently asked. As if Disney just wanted to ask one arm of their film division to go to another.

Exactly, and it's no coincidence that the best/most favorite castings in the MCU are the ones that were lesser-known at the time (Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, even RDJ considering the state of his career pre-Iron Man) while the most divisive ones are people they cast just because they were coming off an awards win or nom or because they were having "a moment" (Brie Larson, Jeremy Renner, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jonathan Majors).

I've only read and heard praise for Benedict Cumberbatch being cast as Strange. And to this day he's one of my favorite castings in the MCU in my opinion.

I feel like people were super excited back when he was cast but for some reason he still hasn't managed to "click" in the same way that RDJ, Evans or Hemsworth did. I think he's still hampered by his terrible American accent, and it certainly doesn't help that Multiverse of Madness was pure ass.
