Should’ve just casted him in the first place. He would’ve been the perfect first choice. Instead they went with an Oscar winner yet insecure straight male when there were plenty of talented gay or str8 actors who were comfortable playing gay roles in the market.

More like they went with a Joker leading star who on 50 million budget movie grossed over a billion. People, it's always about numbers.

Joan Collins talked about when Cleopatra was getting filmed it kept getting more expensive so they cast Elizabeth Taylor, major star not some starlet like Joan. It's always been like that.

My real question is what REALLY happened behind the scenes that Joaquin got such cold feet on his own project. Still feel that something is not revealed.

Yeah the impression I got from everything I read is that this project hinged on Joaquin being attached and starring, essentially he was "irreplaceable" in this context. Not sure I'm buying this Pedro rumor at all. He is clearly very busy already.

Not only that, it was Joaquin's project in the first place. He came up with the idea and was heavily involved in every step of the way.

Still holding onto hope Pedro gets to star in an Oscar-baity gay movie someday tho

I don't think anything really happened so much as its been talked about that Joaquin does this crap all the time. he walked out of joker so many times and that was what won him his oscar

Yeah, I have read it later on that there were other projects that he was too very near quitting as well. With Napoleon tho the script was bad and that he wanted his friend Paul Thomas Anderson to jump in and rewrite some portion of a script. Ridley Scott blows for quite some time so I get it lol

He attended Jwan Yosef's (Artist and Ricky martin's ex hubby) birthday dinner. About 90% of the attendees were gay men, I know because a friend of mine attended too and this guy tagged him on the original photo on his IG but checked an hour later, he had untagged him and only tagged him on his IG stories, he must have received a statement from Pedro's publicist telling him to untag him. My friend also said he sat in a secluded area, left early and took photos with no one except the celebrant which is Jwan and seeing as he's not out, Jwan wouldn't post it on his socials.
