For me, my penis reaches my belly button both when I'm standing and when I'm lying down. And when I'm seated, my penis reaches well past my belly button. But, I also have a belly. Had I not a belly, would my penis reach further?

I was born with what was diagnosed as Genetic Localized Gigantism of the reproductive organs. Back when I was still getting erections, I would lay on my back. If I propped myself up on my elbows, I could tap my penis on my nipples. I had to splay my legs as far apart as possible, almost in a gymnastic-like position, because the cavernosa tissue of the penis root expanded more than the space inside my groin. It pushed on tendons and muscles for my legs and pushed against my anus. While I had the fun feeling in the tip of my penis, I had unpleasant pain in the lower part of my groin, the perineum, it was a headache-like pain in my 'taint'.
One time my oversized testicles were not totally comfortable as they were lying on the bed below my torso. I bent my upper body in order reach down and reposition them. I didn't twist my body quite enough and accidentally poked myself in the collarbone with my penis. It didn't hurt so much as it was a reminder of how freakishly overendowed I am.

Additionally, I don't equate to the penis-to-belly-button to mean a penis is big. There are so many things that can impact it that, in and of itself, a penis reaching a belly button doesn't mean one is big. I'm really curious about the impact of a belly on the penis-to-belly-button thing.

(For the record, I'm about 5'10" and weigh 260 lbs. So, yeah, I've a belly....sigh.)

I’ve commented on this before and it’s odd to me about how many want to turn this into an argument. I think it’s a great question. People want to argue that belly buttons are higher and lower, that sitting up can trick the shot. I would suggest when you see a man lying “flat” on his back in bed, floor, etc. if his cock reaches his belly button, he’s easily above average. If it’s an inch or two past his belly button, I’d suggest very long. I feel these shots are somewhat avoided in mainstream porn as it defeats the illusion of how huge they claim the performer to be. Maybe I’m odd but this is something I focus on and look for in videos or photos and when a cock is well past it, the performer is usually super hung. I’d love to see links to videos as I think they are harder to find….or perhaps I fast forward too much and miss them.

Totally agree! They avoid this metric on purpose. Tons of the 8”/9” listed guys are like 6.5-7.5 and you’d be able to tell if you saw it only went to just under their belly button.
